The use of oil as a food and medicinal resource dates back, according to archaeological findings, to the 5th and 6th centuries BC. A variety of uses is also documented: culinary, medicinal, cosmetic and practical domestic use.
Practically all these uses are still valid today, to a greater or lesser extent.
